This policy describes how Crescent Bioresearch ("Crescent", "we") collects, uses and protects personal information on this website. It applies to this site only. The catalog at crescentbioresearch.com and the store at cart.crescentbioresearch.com carry their own policies.
Who we are
Crescent Bioresearch is a supplier of laboratory compounds and reagents for in-vitro research, located at 1060 Broadway #1025, Albany, New York 12204. Questions about this policy may be sent to [email protected].
Information we collect
- Information provided directly. If a visitor writes to us, we receive the name, e-mail address, organisation and message supplied.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records the IP address, browser type, referring page, pages requested and timestamps of each request in server logs for security and capacity purposes.
- Cookies. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Any preference stored in the browser (for example a dismissed notice) is kept locally and is not transmitted to us.
How we use information
- To answer enquiries and provide requested documents, such as certificates of analysis or safety data sheets.
- To operate, secure and maintain the website.
- To meet legal obligations, including record-keeping required of a supplier of research-use-only materials.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for profiling or automated decision-making.
Legal basis
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on legitimate interest in operating a secure website and in responding to correspondence, on consent where a visitor chooses to contact us, and on legal obligation where a record must be kept.
Sharing
Information is shared only with service providers who process it on our instructions, such as our website host and e-mail provider, and with authorities where the law requires it. Each provider is bound by contract to protect the information and to use it only for the service they provide to us.
Retention
Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping, then deleted. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period, typically under ninety days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to correspondence is restricted to the staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Rights
Depending on where a visitor lives, they may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of their personal information, to object to its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Residents of New York and other United States jurisdictions may have rights under state law. Requests may be sent to [email protected]; we will respond within the period the applicable law requires.
Children
This site is directed at research entities and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Third-party links
Links to external sites, including the certificate library and the independent laboratory, lead to pages governed by their own policies.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows the most recent revision.
